Hong Kong Pride Parade 2013 November 9, 2013December 22, 2013 Wendy Tang Nov. 9, 2013 – Supporters of the sexual minorities marched from Victoria Park, Causeway Bay to Tamar, Admiralty. The pride parade kicked off at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. York Chow, the chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission made a first-time appearance at the pride parade. The theme of this year’s parade is “We stand for love, we stand for LGBT.” The spokesperson of the parade committee said the theme is to attract support from the heterosexual community to promote gay rights. An estimated 5,000 people – twice the number as two years ago – marched this year, organizers said.
